Teacher Council Update

An Update from Eugene Cash

Dear SFI Sangha,

I am the founding teacher of San Francisco Insight. I have been the lead teacher for the past 30 years. During that time I have led the group each Sunday. In the last year I realized I didn’t want to teach every week anymore. Given that change, we improvised and had many different wonderful guest teachers. The feedback from the sangha was that the guest teacher model was not supportive enough for peoples’ practice. To address this difficulty we have changed the structure of our Sunday night class.

We have created a teacher council of Victoria Cary, Pamela Weiss, Syra Smith and myself. Each of us will teach one Sunday a month. This new structure will begin formally January 1, 2024. We will still have guest teachers but there will be a stable regularity of teachers and a more consistent teacher sangha relationship. Our wish is for this to be more supportive and to develop a broader, dependable teacher body for SFI.

Wishing all well.

Metta,
Eugene
